This Memorial Website was created for our beloved Rouein Bahmanian who was born in Tehran, Iran on August 7, 1983 and passed away on March 31, 2006 at the age of 23. In his short 23 years time, Rouein made many friends and touched many lives.
It’s hard to write about his life when there were so many instances when he shined like thousands of stars, each one representing a point of his life. I can assure you that if one had the privilege of knowing Rouein, one’s heart would have been touched by him. He was always smiling and was so full of life. His personality was as such that he always wanted to help others. To him, love was the greatest quality that a person could have and he was ready to love someone with all his heart and soul. Unfortunately, like so many other things in his life, he was not able to accomplish that because of his short time here on earth. Rouein, just like his name which in simple term means “tough as steel”, fought a tough battle with cancer over the last 27 months of his life. He fought it with grace and dignity. If you did not know that he was battling this dreadful illness, you would not think that he even had a simple headache. He continued to lead a normal life as much as he was allowed to by his doctors, like going out with his friends to different places. But during his last couple of months, sometimes the pain was so unbearable that his doctors had to administrate a lot of pain killers. In spite of all that, he remained strong. He never complained of pain. Relatives and friends, who came to the hospital to see Rouein, would always gain energy because Rouein never acted sick. He would either make you laugh or make fun of you or ask you all about what’s going on in your life. He didn’t want the focus to be on him or on the fact that he was lying in the hospital bed! We admired him so much; admired his courage, his strong will, his hope and his love for life. He was so hopeful and optimistic that a few months before his death he started his own business “Rouein Computer Services”( www3.sympatico.ca/bahmanian/ ). He was also planning to go to the 2006 world cup soccer games in Germany. Nothing describes his personality better than the poem that is engraved on his tombstone and is written by a close friend.
We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to help build this Web site and those who continue visiting it. We would like to encourage you to come back to this site as many times as you like to share your memories and stories. Keep the Love and the Warmth of Rouein’s Spirit glowing like the flame of eternal light. Rouein may you give us all strength as you look down upon us.
